WHO:            ALL Women Writers!

WHY:             Mission:  Scottsdale Society of Women Writers gives members access to events of interest, a format for exchanging ideas, an opportunity to network with other women writers/authors in camaraderie and support, and an alliance with professionals for writing, publishing, and marketing.

SPEAKER Jeanna Valenti is the principal of LightBox Media, a Scottsdale-based marketing and public relations firm. She is the author of “The Yoga of Marketing: Balancing Heart, Mind and Spirit for Success.” She is a contributor to “Marketing for Leaders: 11 Keys to Building Trust, Clarity, and Connection in a Noisy World.” Jeanna is a TEDx Scottsdale Women organizer, a Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga Instructor and a mindfulness and meditation instructor. Her clients have appeared on the Oprah Winfrey platform, The Today Show and numerous other media outlets.

TALK: (1) She will share a sample marketing plan for authors. (2) She will share client case studies and examples that will inspire and motivate authors. (3) She will also share resources she learned from publishers, distributors, and book marketing consultants. Her NEW book will be available. Bring your questions!

CURRENT VENUE: The meeting is at the CHOMPIE’S at 9301 E. Shea Blvd., at the corner of 92nd St. and Shea, Scottsdale.

GUESTS: If you have a GUEST, please text Patricia on 480-250-5556, or have your guest contact her directly. Guests may visit on two occasions, and then we ask them to join us as full-time members.

PRICING: Meeting cost is now $30.00: this covers the wonderful food, tax and 20% tip, and the spacious room. The menu consists of a tasty buffet, a special dessert, and a variety of beverages. I will be changing the menu each month to keep it interesting.

DUES: Dues will stay the same in 2026 at $50.00. For your membership, you receive a copy of the directory, member support at all SSWW events, and other happenings for the local writing community. A plethora of professional speakers appear throughout the year.

CHECK-IN: Please check-in at the restaurant between 5:15 and 5:30 pm. This allows you to mingle, go through the buffet line and settle in for the meeting. The meeting starts promptly at 6:00 pm AZ Time. Thank you.

Goals of the Group

  • Value all the professional women writers sharing their ability.
  • Honor all genres and all forms of professional writing.
  • Attend monthly meetings to move the group and its members forward.
  • Learn and share in the experiences of monthly professional speakers.
  • Grow the group to a membership of active and contributing women.
  • Encourage participation by members as mentors, and volunteers.
  • Support and challenge each other to always be writing.
  • Help members to stretch as writers and reach lofty personal goals.
