ASU’S PIPER WRITING CENTER SLATES AWARD WINING SCOTTSDALE AUTHOR TO TEACH MEMOIR WRITING ON ZOOM

Are you ready to pursue your memoir and tell your stories? Discover how writing can transform your life and help others? If your answer is yes, this collaborative workshop is for you!

Scottsdale resident, Patricia L. Brooks, MAOM, is an award-winning author of three memoirs. She will teach her workshop Write the Memoir to Remember again for ASU’s Piper Writing Center on a Zoom call in July. Her most recent award is the 2025 Arizona Authors Association Best of Category – Published Non-fiction for her newest book Write the Memoir You’re Afraid to Write.

The workshop will commence every Saturday morning from Feb 28th through March 7th, 14th and 21st from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on a Zoom call.

The fee is $200.00 for adults and $100.00 for students. Registration is required at the ASU Piper Center website https://piper.edu.asu.

Bring your ideas, your questions and have a notebook or journal ready. This is an inspiring and educational workshop. It is interactive and contains all you need to take your memoir to fruition. When she was faced with the grief and loss of her younger sister Roberta, she wrote her first memoir in her sister’s honor. The second memoir covers her path through love addiction. Patricia’s third memoir tells the story of her 40 years of recovery from alcohol and the joys of her sobriety. The non-fiction piece is used with these classes and to help others tell their stories.

Her goal with each of these books is to help others traveling a similar path, or to inform those wanting to know more on the topics. All of these memoirs have a positive upturn; the writing non-fiction answers many important questions.
