WHO: ALL Women Writers!
WHY: Mission: Scottsdale Society of Women Writers gives members access to events of interest, a format for exchanging ideas, an opportunity to network with other women writers/authors in camaraderie and support, and an alliance with professionals for writing, publishing, and marketing.
SPEAKER/AUTHOR: Constance Patrick is our slated speaker for April 30th. Constance Patrick is the author of two collections of poetry and two books of haiku. Her book of flash fiction will be available on Amazon May 1st.
In Spring 2011, Constance stepped away from corporate America to pursue her passion for writing and spoken word performance. As a resident of Sedona, she presented her original poetry and monologues with Red Earth Theatre, Sedona Poetry, and Prose Project, and read her work on Sedona’s KAZM radio in 2024 and 2025. Her poems have been published in Viral Voices, The Stray Branch, U.S. 1 Worksheets, and the Haiku Society of America anthology.Several of her flash fiction also appear in The Stray Branch (2022-2025). Constance is also the founding editor of Word Crafter Press.
Her talk will touch on how vibrant and timely modern poetry is, and how some of the classic poetic styles work well for today’s poetry on societal and cultural themes. She will also be reading several of her published poems.
Constance is a member of the U.S.1 Worksheets Poets’ Cooperative, the Haiku Society of America, Arizona State Poetry Society, Sedona Coyote Poets, and formerly of LA’s Western Edge Writers. She recently joined, Scottsdale Society of Women Writers.

PRICING: Meeting cost is $25.00 due to the increased price of food, the venue, and the wide variety of food choices for our meeting. The menu will consist of sandwich choices, salad choices, and other special items, with a variety of beverages. The food here is delicious and the menu will change monthly through their catering services.
DUES: Dues are $50. For your membership, you will receive a copy of the directory, the monthly newsletter, member support at all Scottsdale Society of Women Writers events, and other happenings with the group and the area’s writing community.
