ALL Women Writers!
Mission: Scottsdale Society of Women Writers gives members access to events of interest, a format for exchanging ideas, an opportunity to network with other women writers/authors in camaraderie and support, and an alliance with professionals for writing, publishing, and marketing.
*SPEAKER: Laurie Schnebly Campbell published half a dozen romances, including one that beat out Nora Roberts for “Best Special Edition of the Year,” before seeing a bumper sticker that changed her life: “Those who can do. Those who believe others can ALSO do, teach.” Since then, she’s taught hundreds of live and online workshops for writers on every continent except Antarctica and gathered 60 some books with dedications from authors who’ve loved her classes.
PRESENTATION: The Double D’s: Dynamic Description and Delicious Dialogue. Everyone tends to be better at writing one of the big D’s (If you’re fabulous at both, you don’t need to hear this talk.!) What kind of dialogue makes your characters real? What kind of description works best for your voice? No two writers will use the same techniques for these key elements, but having new tools to choose from can make writing description and dialogue easier as well as more fun…not only for you, but for your readers as well.
