WHY: The Scottsdale Society of Women Writers gives members access to events of interest, a format for exchanging ideas, an opportunity to network with other women writers and authors, an alliance with businesses relating to writing, publishing, camaraderie and support.
SPEAKER Nov 19th 2014: Deborah J Ledford, President of the independent media production company, IOF Productions Ltd, and award-winning author of the Inola Walela and Steven Hawk Suspense Series will present a presentation about the booming audiobook industry. She is fully versed in actual production, working with a celebrity narrator, professional recording studios, and dealing with numerous distributor platforms including Audible. Deborah’s award-nominated expertise in the audiobook field is sure to pique your interest in this fascinating literary medium.
Award-winning author Deborah J Ledford began her writing career as a screenwriter and later became the award-winning author of the Steven Hawk/Inola Walela psychological suspense thriller series, including CRESCENDO, STACCATO, and The Hillerman Sky Award Finalist SNARE. Her recent release is the 2014 Anthony Award Nominee for Best Audio Book, CRESCENDO, narrated by TV and film actress Christina Cox (Elysium, Dexter, NCIS, 24, The Chronicles of Riddick, Nikki & Nora), produced by Deborah’s media company IOF Productions Ltd. Part Eastern Band Cherokee, she is a three-time nominee for the Pushcart Prize and her award-winning short stories appear in numerous print publications and anthologies.

CHECK-IN: Please check-in between 5:00 and 5:45. The meeting starts promptly at 6:00. All those attending the meeting must pay for the dinner/room/speaker – cost noted above. Pick up your name badge at the front table and ENJOY a wonderful night!

From the 101 freeway exit Chaparral Rd and go west. Just prior to Scottsdale Rd enter the side drive at 4th Floor Grille – take that elevator. Note awning marked 4th Floor Grille on the Chaparral side. This is the easiest way – NOT through the main lobby. Welcome!
